{"id":5604,"date":"2024-12-03T15:07:23","date_gmt":"2024-12-03T13:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dimoshalkis.gr\/?post_type=municipality&#038;p=5604"},"modified":"2026-01-09T21:53:54","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T19:53:54","slug":"twin-towns","status":"publish","type":"municipality","link":"https:\/\/www.dimoshalkis.gr\/en\/municipality\/twin-towns\/","title":{"rendered":"Twin towns"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Aware of the importance of relations between citizens and the dissemination of ideas and cultural traditions, the Municipality of Chalki has established town-twinning relationships with the Municipalities of Kastoria and Nestorio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, 12 November 2016, at 8:00 p.m., the official twinning ceremony between the Municipalities of Kastoria and Nestorio and the Municipality of Chalki took place at the \u201cAfkos Grammos\u201d Hotel. The central symbolic figure of this twinning is Alexandros Diakos, the first Greek Army officer to fall in battle in 1940 during the Greco-Italian War, on the Albanian front, at Tsouka in the Pindus mountain range.
