L&#8217;\u00eele a su pr\u00e9server ses traditions, y compris en mati\u00e8re de gastronomie. Les ingr\u00e9dients principaux sont des p\u00e2tes fra\u00eeches et un fromage frais unique, \u00e0 base de lait de ch\u00e8vre et de brebis, toujours fabriqu\u00e9 de fa\u00e7on traditionnelle. Il s\u2019agit de la crevette \u00ab\u00a0Chalkitiko \u00bb, petite mais succulente. D\u2019une longueur qui ne d\u00e9passe pas sept centim\u00e8tres, c&#8217;est la crevette la plus petite de son esp\u00e8ce, qui ressemble \u00e0 de l\u2019alevin. Cette crevette est de couleur orange vif, avec un long museau, des larves bleu \u00e9lectrique et un go\u00fbt l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sucr\u00e9. Elle se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 la po\u00eale et se mange enti\u00e8re avec sa carapace.
