The Municipality of Chalki announces the completion of the Municipal Emission Reduction Plan (MERP), in accordance with the National Climate Law (Greek Law no. 4936/2022), utilizing artificial intelligence technologies and automated digital processes, in collaboration with the ESGenius platform of the company ResNovae.
Chalki is the first Municipality in Greece to complete MERP with Artificial Intelligence.
Chalki has developed an innovative model for recording, monitoring and updating emissions, which:
• Significantly reduces the administrative and financial burden.
• Ensures full compliance with climate legislation.
• Automates all annual reports and tracking.
• Creates, for the first time, a sustainable system of long-term savings and enhancement of operational efficiency.
Double distinction at the Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2025
The joint initiative of the Municipality of Chalki and ESGenius was distinguished in the theme Climate Change – Tackling Climate Change – Gaseous Pollutant Emissions of the Environment Pillar.
At the award ceremony, which took place at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation in Athens, two awards were awarded:
• one in the Municipality of Chalki,
• and one at ESGenius / ResNovae,
recognizing the successful cooperation and contribution of each institution.
The Mayor of Chalki, Mr. Evangelos Fragkakis, stated the following:

With the support of ESGenius and the ResNovae team, we have created a modern, functional and fully automated emissions recording model that reduces burdens, enhances transparency and shields the future of our island.
