One of Chalki’s most distinctive features is the absence of vehicles. Traffic on the island’s roads is prohibited, except for certain municipal vehicles, and movement is primarily on foot. For access to the beaches, visitors may also use small boats. There are boats operating scheduled routes at lower cost, as well as boats available for full-day charter at a higher cost, which can be more economical for larger groups. These boats depart from the island’s main harbour.
